Jay - 我不配 Wu Bu pei (I'm not worthy it)
Jay's latest music video.

A follow-on reading on Kosovo and also a link to the politics in Taiwan
Cuz that is really just totally insane!!
好, 回去寫我寫不完的ob journal. darn the motha focker.
Countdown to Kosovan independence

Countdown to Kosovan independence
| By Allan Little BBC News |
Kosovo could be independent from Serbia early next year, following the collapse of talks over its future, and despite opposition from Belgrade and Moscow.
The timetable is now clear. There will be no hasty unilateral declaration of independence this week. But it will be soon: probably in January.
It is all being carefully co-ordinated with Kosovo's pro-independence allies - the United States, Britain, France, and Germany.
They will recognise the new state quickly, open diplomatic relations, exchange ambassadors. Serbia will refuse to recognise it and will be supported by Russia, which is hostile to breakaway regions within its own borders.
Kosovo is where it all began, 20 years ago. Yugoslavia's bloody disintegration, the descent into barbarism, the coining of a grim new euphemism to add to the lexicon of conflict: "ethnic cleansing".
This is where Slobodan Milosevic established himself as the champion of the Serbian nation.
'Famous battle'
He stood in front of a crowd of a million Serbs at a rally to mark the anniversary of the battle of Kosovo in 1389 - the battle in which the Serbs were defeated by the Turks - and rallied the nation to what he said was a new fight for national survival.
The legend of 1389 has given Kosovo a mythical, almost mystical significance in Serbian nationalism.
It is also - appropriately - the place from which Milosevic launched what was to be a series of wars - in Slovenia, in Croatia, in Bosnia, and finally Kosovo itself.
The arc of Milosevic's life reads like a character written by Goethe. There was something Faustian in the pact he made with the twin demons of Balkan nationalism and war.
They kept him in power for a while. War was his power base. But they destroyed him in the end.
'Disastrous experiment'
And now the Serbs - and Serbia itself - are paying the price of that disastrous experiment in ethnic supremacy.
I remember them at their hubristic high water mark. The territories held by the Serbs swept across the western Balkans, observing no legal frontiers.
All of Serbia, including Kosovo, all of Montenegro, two thirds of independent Bosnia, one third of Croatia they held.
I was there the day they unfurled the maps of the state they proclaimed as Greater Serbia: bearded men in World War Two uniforms of the Serbian royalist Chetnik forces, self-consciously atavistic, fighting and killing and dying to avenge an injustice that had begun in the 14th Century.
All the Serb lands west of the Drina River were to be renamed Western Serbia.
![]()
Wars in the Balkans do not happen spontaneously. They have to be planned, organised, funded, resourced, armed, equipped, guided ![]()
Serbia would now stretch to the gleaming Adriatic at the Croatian port of Zadar.
And the non-Serbs whose homes are on those territories, who have been driven out, ethnically cleansed, we asked. What was to become of them?
Frankly, they did not give a damn.
There was an old nationalist song they used to sing.
"Who dares say it, who dares tell the lie, that Serbia is small?" they sang.
"It is not small, it is not small".
Well it is small now. First the Serbs lost their territories in Croatia. Then the Serbs in Bosnia - under immense military and diplomatic pressure - agreed to be part of an independent Bosnian state.
Serb identity
Even Montenegro abandoned them. And finally, now, the cradle of Serbian national identity, Kosovo.
There was a time when a declaration of independence would have plunged this region back into full scale war.
Will it this time? Few here think so.
And here's why. Wars in the Balkans do not happen spontaneously. They have to be planned, organised, funded, resourced, armed, equipped, guided.
Milosevic threw the weight of the entire state behind the effort of the 1990s. It was a huge mobilisation.
There is no state in the Balkans ready or able to make that sacrifice now.
Serbia is in no condition to launch an invasion to retake Kosovo by force.
Even if it were, it is doubtful that Serbian public opinion would, this time, walk hand in hand with the project.
Serbia will be angry and resentful - but most Serbs now want to get on with the business of becoming a normal European country.
Criminal haven
Britain and America have become the most important sponsors of independence, because they think that without it there can be no economic progress, and without economic progress, Kosovo will continue its dangerous slide into criminality.
It is already a haven for drug smuggling and people trafficking - a headache that is felt across the European Union and beyond.
One pro-independence Western diplomat here likened the situation to Northern Ireland.
"Your Paddy Ashdown," he said, referring to the former International High Representative in Bosnia. "Your Paddy Ashdown put it well when he said that there were some nations who forfeited the moral authority to govern - the moral claim to sovereignty - simply by dint of their own actions. That was true of the British in Ireland 80 years ago. It's true of Serbia's historic claim to Kosovo now," he said.
But there could be consequences, the most important of these in Bosnia.
'Violent unravelling'
Bosnia remains territorially divided under the terms of a peace treaty that ended the war there 12 years ago.
Fifty per cent of Bosnian territory is controlled by Bosnian Serbs.
They might well now unfurl those old maps again, follow Kosovo's example and declare themselves not part of Bosnia at all but - as they once aspired to become - western Serbia.
And that, rather than Kosovo itself, could be the start of a dangerous, and perhaps violent, unravelling.

What's my purpose of being here? I think I already forgot.
so stupid.
Why carry on doing things that aren't really suit for you, Melody?
You such a foolish clown.
Question 3: Why am I missing?
How can I be cold-hearted? I wanna be like that too.
That would be so much easier.
Question2: Why Sim-Chinese jars my eyes?
And I'm saying that seriously.
Cuz I'm concerned about this effect on my learning and teaching.
[Ai, merde. Why you choose a job that has to succumb to another country's ideology and culture. (and what's even funny is that you know the reason why you have to fight with that or otherwise your own culture will end up be consumed by it!)
Yes, I'm biased for simplified Chinese. For me , they are not simplified at all. And being a teacher, sometimes I have to force myself to adopt to the form of it. Learning this is like another way of knowledge reforming to me. However, I don't like the feeling of reading a long passage in sim-Chinese and feeling like reading that in a language that I'm completely have no knowledge of, as if it's in Greek!
K, enough about complaints, time to go back to chew on that.
In the name of the "resistance". darn, I hate it.

Question: Why men like bitches?
(In fact, quite the opposite) so my question is hoping that I won't get myself into stupid situation again.
I'm in a really stupid situation.
Men in general, like bitches.
And I didn't really realize that part until someone gave me a really good push tonight.
That feels great. wonderful and horrible.
That's exactly why all the bitches get the good guys.
I wish I could learn it earlier.

The Mayonnaise Jar and Coffee
I don't know who is the original author, but it's a good fruit for thoughts.
The Mayonnaise Jar and Coffee
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar....and the coffee.... A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook he jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "yes".
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now" said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff.
If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand. "One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Referred to by the Romans as Arabia Felix, or Happy Arabia, Yemen is a diver's paradise and home to fascinating tribes, lush fields and well preserved ancient architecture. Yemen is attracting ever increasing numbers of visitors. Read on to discover more about this Arabian wonderland.
A closer look
Visitors to Yemen have increased by over 100 percent from 2003 to 2006. They are drawn by the unspoilt coral, a host of small islands and still evident tribal traditions.
There are three UNESCO world heritage sites listed in Yemen; the capital Sana'a, Zabid and Shibam. Shibam's five to seven story mud-brick buildings dating back to the sixteenth century have earned it the nickname of the Manhattan of the desert. The mud "skyscrapers" are contained by a fortified wall and number 500 buildings in less than half a square kilometer.
Zabid is home to the Al-Azhar University where the mathematical discipline Al Jabar — the basis for modern day Algebra — was formed. Although not listed by UNESCO, Marib, located to the east of Sana'a, was the capital of ancient Sheba, and draws visitors both for its outstanding architecture and for being the reputed home of the Queen of Sheba. Tarim, an ancient town in Eastern Yemen, has 365 mosques — one for each day of the year.
Yemen's landscape is a mixture of mostly desert landscape, breathtaking mountains, mud villages and stone houses, and vast green fields of Khat. Khat is a stimulant and local favorite. Its green leaves are chewed by local men in the afternoon giving the chewer a mild euphoric feeling.
A typical meal in Yemen is salta, a broth made of meat and vegetables served in a stone bowl with flat bread. Grilled fresh fish, hummus and ful (a blend of beans, uncooked vegetables and oil) are also very popular. (catherine Thomas, staff writer)
「Salta」
Who Knew?
Socotra Island is situated 500km off the coast of the Yemen mainland in the Indian Ocean. Its isolation has created separate flora and fauna from the mainland, including the Dragon Blood Tree, so named because it leaks a bright red sap, said to be the blood of dragons.
The island is 3,600km2 and the population speaks Soqotri, which is entirely separate from and not generally understood by the mainland Yemenis. The island has pristine reefs, and so far 800 different species of coral have been identified off the coast.
Yemen has named the area as a national park and is promoting eco-tourism. In recent years the island has become more accessible with the advent of flights to Socotra. Visitors enjoy activities such as camping on beaches, tracking up dry river beds and hiking in the Haghier mountains, as well as snorkeling and diving.
What time is it there?
Yemen is five hours behind Taiwan, so when it is 9pm in Taiwan it is 4pm in Yemen.
Flag
Adopted in 1990 when the north and south of Yemen unified. The red stripe represents the bloodshed during the struggle for independence, the black stripe an end to the dark past, and the white hope for the future.

Learning Thai note
Author: RippaSama from http://www.thailandqa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10980
In Thai, when you want to express that
you're looking or watching at something or someone
you can use the Thai verb duu (ดู)
which means to look, to see or to watch.
Using the Thai verb duu (ดู) is really easy,
all you have to do is to place a noun
(something or someone that you're looking at)
right after the Thai verb duu (ดู).
Using duu (ดู) to express "to look" and "to watch"
Note: Be sure to practise writing the Thai script
of each examples below on a piece of paper
to strengthen your understanding and
recognition speed of the Thai script.
Here are some examples that show
Kor duu roop noi daai mai
May I see the picture?
Kor is a Thai verb that is used for asking or making
a polite request which sounds something like
"May/can I...". Roop means picture. Noi is
actually Thai particle that is used to soften
a request.
Dton nee chan gam-lang duu nang yuu.
I'm watching movie right now.
Dton nee means now, right now or at this moment.
Gam-lang is a Thai auxiliary verb for indicating
the present participle. Gam-lang is actually very
similar to the English suffix "-ing" which means
"in the act of".
Nang means movie. Yuu is a Thai
adverb for indicating the progressive tense
or perfect tense.
Koon duu arai yuu?
What are you looking at?
Khlik tee nee peua duu raay-la-iiat
Khlik means "click". :-p It can be either a verb or a noun.
Tee means at. Peua means for the purpose of or
simply "for". Raay-la-iiat means detail, price list or brochure.
Raay is actually a Thai noun meaning list of items,
record, story, case or statement. La-iiat is a Thai adjective that
describes something as detailed, exact, fine, meticulous,
careful or thorough. Literally translated, it would mean
"thorough record" which means details. :-)
Duu nan poo ying
Look at that lady.
Poo ying means female, lady or woman in Thai.

[News]Scientists tell leaders to tackle climate change, energy security
Scientists tell leaders to tackle climate change, energy security
PARIS (AFP) - Top scientific bodies called Wednesday on world leaders gathering at a G8 summit next month to tackle the twin issues of energy security and climate change.
"The problem is not yet insoluble, but becomes more difficult with each passing day," said the 13 national science academies of the Group of Eight industrialised nations and five developing countries in a joint statement.
"We call on all countries of the world to cooperate in identifying common strategic objectives for sustainable, efficient and climate friendly systems," the statement said.
How to cope with the carbon dioxide emissions driving global warming is likely to top the agenda when G8 leaders from the United States, France, Italy, Germany, Britain, Japan, Canada, and Russia meet in the German town of Heiligendamm on June 6-8.
The club of advanced economies will be joined by five rapidly developing nations at the summit: China, which is set to overtake the United States as the world's top carbon polluter by the end of the decade; and India, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa.
The scientists noted that G8 countries "bear a special responsibility for the current high level of energy consumption" that aggravated climate change. But it added that newly industrializing nations would have to share in this burden in the future.
In a call to action, the scientists said world leaders should set standards and promote economic instruments for efficiency, and commit to promoting energy efficiency for buildings, devices, motors, transportation systems and in the energy sector itself.
The European Union nations favour setting caps on carbon emissions, and have pledged to reduce their collective CO2 output by 20 percent before 2020.
The administration of George W. Bush, however, is hostile to imposed reductions, arguing that privately-funded technology will more efficiently curb dangerous global warming.
China and India have both pointed out that industrialized nations are largely responsible for the accumulation of greenhouse gases that have driven up global temperatures.
They argue that developing nations should not have to face severe restrictions on their growth.

打開手機 browsing througth the name list
But found out that there's no one you can really give them a call
Sometimes you're just looking at their names and numbers,
but you're not so sure what to talk with them,
even secretly you do care about them and wonder how they've been.
That's me, when I hopelessly found out.
Terrible me.

都能在心中被放大且慢動作定格化;
My Dear Dolly Daring,
My Dear Dolly Daring,
She emaciated,Seemed much more than before.
Moreover than that,
It's her weary eyes lie under her thick hair.
Her eyes hesitated,
Whether to hold her happiness with her secret lover
Or to reveal her emotional feelings all at once.
I was happy for her, cuz she's still willing to talk about "him",
but my heart aches cuz he can't promise her with happiness.
I only can tell her what I think is the right thing to do,
But do it or not,
Still is her choice.

It was just so funny going back to this old thing that I wrote in the past.

The Clientele - (I can't seem to) make u mine.
I think it's pretty pretty.
U fool, mel, you fool.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Clientele - (I can't seem to) make u mine.
In the silence of the garden
Moths arising on the wind
And the Beast is pondering love, love, love
Till the rusty nails grow dim
I can't seem to make you mine
Through the long and lonely night
And I try so hard, darling
But the crowd pulled you away
Through the ribbons and the rain
And the ivy coiled around my hand
So I lingered with the people
In the silent August glade
But the rain has brought the night
And the night has brought the rain
I can't seem to make you mine
Through the long and lonely night
And I try so hard, darling
But the crowd pulled you away
Through the ribbons and the rain
And the ivy coiled around my hand
Mark the day! The Clientele
The Clientele. I really wanna see if I could make it there for that day!!!
Remember to get the ticket too!!:)

some thoughts
I ain’t the last and I ain’t the first,
I’m one of them in between, the possible 23rd.
The whole idea of trying to have you terrified me.
Knowing someone means to risk the chance of losing someone.
It seems to me is just impossible.
The more I know about you, the more discouraged I am.
I don't know where to continue this, it's out of my realm.
I can’t really take this, tho the truth is I know is that I possibly "can".
But I don't wanna count on chances since that often leads to something in vain.
Let’s stop when there’s a chance
, and while we can.
Let me.

FW: Abolish bilingual education, Gingrich urges
Abolish bilingual education, Gingrich urges
-->POSTED: 4:58 p.m. EDT, March 31, 2007
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich equated bilingual education Saturday with "the language of living in a ghetto" and mocked requirements that ballots be printed in multiple languages.
"The government should quit mandating that various documents be printed in any one of 700 languages depending on who randomly shows up" to vote, said Gingrich, who is considering seeking the Republican presidential nomination in 2008. He made the comments in a speech to the National Federation of Republican Women.
"The American people believe English should be the official language of the government. ... We should replace bilingual education with immersion in English so people learn the common language of the country and they learn the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto," Gingrich said to cheers from the crowd of more than 100.
"Citizenship requires passing a test on American history in English. If that's true, then we do not have to create ballots in any language except English," he said.
Peter Zamora, co-chair of the Washington-based Hispanic Education Coalition, which supports bilingual education, said, "The tone of his comments were very hateful. Spanish is spoken by many individuals who do not live in the ghetto."
He said research has shown "that bilingual education is the best method of teaching English to non-English speakers."
Spanish-speakers, Zamora said, know they need to learn English.
"There's no resistance to learning English, really, among immigrants, among native-born citizens," he said. "Everyone wants to learn English because it's what you need to thrive in this country."
In the past, Gingrich has supported making English the nation's official language. He's also said all American children should learn English and that other languages should be secondary in schools.
In 1995, for example, he said bilingualism poses "long-term dangers to the fabric of our nation" and that "allowing bilingualism to continue to grow is very dangerous."
Bilingual programs teach students reading, arithmetic and other basic skills in their native language so they do not fall behind while mastering English.
On voting, federal law requires districts with large populations of non-English speakers to print ballots in multiple languages.

It just a total absurd feeling for me to read an article that has such different point of view toward bilingual education. It is a very biased and not constructive way of saying. ( or at least I hope that he knows what he says)
